Book Cover off of Amazon Website

Eugenia Ward has been taking care of her family and ex-husband for years, even after she left her job and started her own company. She is a big-name designer when it comes to evening and wedding gowns, but she is struggling with the economy during COVID. But, she still manages to take care of everyone and everything, including her daughter’s lavish wedding (that has gone over budget)!

For one last break before the wedding madness and fashion week, Eugenia gathers the entire family (and significant others) together for a delightful holiday. However, Gloria’s fiancé causes quite the stir, Daphne is about ready to pop with twins, and everyone is on edge.

The silver lining in it all may be meeting Patrick Hughes, a successful real estate developer who’s also going through a rough patch. When the two meet, they find that they can easily talk about life, family, and even business. They find an easy friendship that may turn into more (if either of them wants it).

But as the wedding gets closer, tensions get higher, money gets tighter, and a hurricane may just ruin it all!

Danielle Steel’s For Richer For Poorer is another great novel by a wonderful writer that will leave you wanting more!

In The Housemaid by Freida McFadden, we meet Millie, who is just out of prison, struggling to find a job. In fact, she is living in her car, doing her best trying to find someone who will hire a girl with a past.

When she meets Nina Winchester, who offers her a live-in position, she can’t believe her luck. She cooks, cleans, and helps with their daughter. Who would let someone with her past live in their home and take care of their child?

Maybe someone who has their own secrets. Nina has spent time in a mental institution after her marriage. She has also let herself go, losing weight and not caring about her appearance as much as she used to.

Millie just sees the perfect life that Nina has. She doesn’t have to worry about money, without working. She doesn’t even have to cook or clean! She even has Millie help with her daughter. Who knows what she does all day?

She even sees a wonderful husband, who seems to be more broken every day. She could never imagine treating him like Nina does. She starts to wonder about their marriage, and what keeps the two of them together.

  • This Book Stayed with Me for Ages After I Put it Down

Book Cover off of Amazon Website

In Timoney’s novel, The Daughter She Gave Away, we meet two couples in impossible situations. Meg gets a terrible diagnosis and finds out that she only has a few months left to live. She is worried about her husband, Simon, and their beautiful fourteen-year-old daughter, Grace.

That also means she will have to tell Grace the secret they have been keeping from her for her entire life. That, even though Simon is her father, Meg is not her birth mother. Simon’s first wife was the one who gave birth to Grace.

However, Cassie was in no shape to take care of a baby at that time. So, Meg and Simon stepped up and have raised Grace as their own. But, with losing her own mother, Meg thinks that Grace deserves to know the truth and meet the mother who gave birth to her.

However, is Cassie ready to meet the daughter she had to give away? Will she be able to handle it when the truth comes out on her end? Or will it change her entire life?

This book was really emotional for me. To think of dying and leaving your children behind is absolutely gut-wrenching for me, let alone thinking about hurting your child before you do so! This is a must-read!

  • Can You Really Be Happily Married Fifteen Years Later?

Book Cover off of Amazon Website

Millie and Tom were only eighteen years old when they found out that they were going to have a baby. So, they did what any young couple would do? They got married and starred in a TV documentary about teenage marriage.

Even though their families weren’t so sure that it was the right thing to do, they have managed to raise a family and are approaching their fifteenth wedding anniversary. They are both working hard, struggling with money, and raising two teenage daughters. Life isn’t as easy as it was back then.

When the TV crew wants to do a follow-up to the documentary, Millie is worried that certain things are going to come out in the open, things she doesn’t want Tom to know. Will the couple survive a week of filming, even as their (and their daughter’s) lives explode?

I enjoyed the entire series about the Jennings sisters. You can tell that they all love each other, even though they may not agree with each other’s choices. This is a good series by Sheila Norton.

Seven years after her husband’s death, Holly Kennedy has moved on with her life. She was working with her sister and has even found love again.

When her sister asks her to tell her story on her podcast, she has no idea how her life will change. She had no idea that her story would touch so many people. In fact, several terminally ill people decide that they want to leave letters for their own loved ones! And they need her help!

  • The Book is Even Better!

Book Cover off of Amazon Website

In PS I Love You by Cecilia Ahern, Holly and Gerry were childhood sweethearts–soulmates. They grew up together, as best friends, so it was no surprise when they married and started their life together.

But when the unthinkable happens, Holly struggles to continue living without her soulmate. Then, Gerry surprises her from beyond the grave. He leaves her with a bunch of notes that he signed ‘PS, I Love You’. Holly is told to open one a month for several months.

Following whatever Gerry tells her, Holly buys a new outfit, gets a good job, tries karaoke, and much more. However, she quickly realizes that, even with Gerry’s death, she is still living for him.

Lucky for Holly, she has a lot of family and friends to help her through the first year. She finds herself laughing, crying, and enjoying life again. Even better, she has a guardian angel by her side!

I haven’t watched the movie in years (or read this book), but I am really glad that I picked it up again. I am looking forward to reading the sequel, so stay tuned!

  • What Happens When Two Ranchers Fall in Like?

Nora Roberts is a favorite of mine, though I say that about a lot of authors! However, whenever I see one of her books for sale, I always have to pick it up (or download it)!

In Nora Roberts’ Boundary Lines, we meet two ranchers, that share a property line. However, they also have a feud that goes back many, many years.

Jillian Baron is excited to have inherited her grandfather’s ranch, though she knows it is going to take a lot of hard work and grit, especially since she is female.

Aaron Murdock is back to take over his ranch as his father’s health declines. He is ready to bring the ranch up to date and is willing to do whatever it takes.

When the two meet, their long-running feud pushes them apart, even as their attraction grows. They share a kiss, which blows both of their minds as they struggle with their dislike and attraction to each other.

You won’t want to put this book down, as you try to figure out if they are going to get together and bring their ranches together or push each other apart even farther!
