  • How Far Would You Go If Your Daughter Was Kidnapped?

Book Cover off of Amazon Website

    It’s every parent’s worst nightmare…

Ever since Isabel dealt with Jody and her sister Alicia, she hasn’t trusted that it was over. Even though Alicia was dead, Jody was very much alive. Isabel knew in her heart that Jody would be back for her.

Because of that, she kept her daughter, Lauren, close. She was allowed to go to school, and that was it. She even took her there and picked her up, not even allowing her to walk the few blocks to school. However, that doesn’t even keep her safe.

When she is kidnapped outside of school, Isabel knows that Jody is behind this somehow. Unable to do anything but wait (and work with the police), she struggles. Her marriage, which may have been in trouble before, feels like it may not survive this challenge.

Even worse, the police in charge seem to think that Isabel is the one who caused the kidnapping, not Jody. They think that she somehow did this herself, for some unknown reason. They are more worried about picking apart her statement than looking for Lauren. They even start looking at her family members and friends.

Panicked, she starts taking matters into her own hands, figuring that she is going to be the only person who is going to find her daughter!

Angel Dust by Lorna Dounaeva is another great book in this series. I highly recommend this series. You won’t be able to put it down. I am already partway through the third book!

  • Jody and Alicia Didn’t Have An Easy Life

Book Cover off of Amazon Website

Jody McBride has caused Isabel and her family plenty of grief over the years. However, her life hasn’t always been easy. She grew up in East London, with a mother who worked multiple jobs and a father who was a firefighter. They lived in a bad part of town, though she did her best in school. She wanted a better life than she had.

When her father lost his job, her life underwent a significant change. He started drinking. Then one night, it got even worse. Her house caught on fire, and her mother gave birth to her sister, Alicia. Jody was left to raise her sister, Alicia, at only nine years old. Her father barely worked, but started bringing the family to work.

Jody struggled with her life. She had to raise her sister, work with her dad, take care of the whole family, and deal with her own addictions. Plus, she had to come to terms with Alicia’s demons.

A change from the other novels in this series, Cold Bath Lane by Lorna Dounaeva gave me a glimpse into the pain that Jody and Alicia dealt with, making it a little easier to understand why they make the choices that they do!

  • Will Alicia Get Her Revenge?

Book Cover off of Amazon Website

You set fire to me and left me for dead. You even pronounced me dead, never noticing that I was still alive. Everyone left me, yet somehow I survived.

When Alicia escaped the fire, she began a whole new life. She meets a man named Christopher, who is only happy to take care of her. She tried (though not very hard) to become an actress, while biding her time until she could take revenge on the people who left her for dead.

Alicia decides that she will have her revenge. Or will she? Is she willing to give up her love, just to get even? Christopher won’t stay with her if he really knows who she is, so is she willing to risk it all?

The Girl Who Caught Fire by Lorna Dounaeva: another compelling novel in the series. I can’t wait to see how it ends!

  • Trying New Author Who Writes Amish Novels

Book Cover off of Amazon Website

As someone who loves reading Amish novels, I have been collecting a few new authors that I thought it was time to try. I decided to start with Amish Celebrations by Beth Wiseman.

In it, I read four short stories centered on celebrations in the Amish community, such as rumschpringe, baptism, weddings, and Christmas.

In The Gift of Sisters, we meet Hannah and Rachel, twins who are almost sixteen and ready to enjoy their rumschpringe. However, they couldn’t be more different. Hannah is outgoing and attracts attention with her beauty, while Rachel is shy and can be considered withdrawn.

When Abraham Stoltzfus arrives in their community, both girls decide he is the man they want to marry. The girls end up fighting each other over a man, and it is a page-turner to figure out which girl will end up with the new man in town!

In A New Beginning, we meet Rebecca and Noah, who are set to be married in a few weeks. One night out changes everything for the couple, as Noah begins to have doubts about baptism and marriage.

When the couple finally comes face-to-face again, they have to decide what they both want. Can they forgive each other and move on? Or will Noah end up leaving the faith and the Amish?

In A Perfect Plan, we meet Priscilla King, who has to have everything perfect! When Chester Lapp finally asks her to marry him, she can’t wait to begin planning her special day.

However, as things start to fall apart in the weeks before the wedding, will both Priscilla and Chester have a change of heart? Will they learn to trust God and know that everything will work out in the end? Or will Priscilla give up on true love because she is worrying too much?

In A Christmas Miracle, we meet Mary, overwhelmed with her five children. She struggles to take care of her young brood and the house. Both she and her husband are frustrated because they see other big families that seem to have everything figured out.

She reaches out for help from her in-laws, but they are unable to help at all! In fact, they seem to avoid the family as much as possible!

Other than that, she has no one. When an elderly man in a red suit and his sidekick elf befriend Mary, she feels like she is getting a Christmas miracle until her husband stops it. He doesn’t want any help from Englishers. When everything goes downhill again, he has to decide whether he can accept the help his wife so desperately needs.

I loved this collection so much that I started another collection by Wiseman. You will also enjoy them!

  • Can You Really Trust Your New Friend?

Book Cover off of Amazon Website

When Isabel Frost almost hits Alicia, she doesn’t know what to do. So, she decides to help her. She finds her a job at the supermarket where she works. She introduces her to her friends, and they take to her right away. She even moves in with them, when the place where she is staying burns down.

But then, fires start to break out all over town. Isabel thinks that something is up with Alicia. When the police start looking at Isabel, she doesn’t understand what is going on. Why do they think that Isabel is the one who is causing all of the problems, when it is Alicia? Can she help the police solve the mystery BEFORE they arrest her?

If you are interested in a good thriller series that will keep you guessing until the VERY end, you need to check out the McBride Vendetta Thrillers.  Fry by Lorna Dounaeva was a very good start, and I am already halfway through the next book, which is just as intriquing as this one!

  • Why You Should Use Historian to Organize Your Photos Digitally

If you’ve ever spent hours scrolling through your phone or digging through computer folders just to find that one photo, you’re not alone. Between phones, cameras, social media downloads, and cloud storage, our memories are scattered everywhere — and it’s overwhelming.

That’s where Historian by Forever® comes in.

This software was designed specifically for preserving, organizing, and protecting your photos — not just storing them. Whether you’re a lifelong memory keeper, a digital scrapbooker, or just someone who wants to make sense of years of digital clutter, Historian is an amazing tool to have in your creative toolkit.

Here’s why so many people (myself included!) love using Historian to organize their photos digitally.

    📸 Everything in One Place

The beauty of Historian is that it brings all of your photos together in one secure, searchable location. No more chasing down files across multiple devices or cloud accounts.

You can easily import images from your phone, camera, computer, or external drives — and Historian keeps them neatly organized for you. Once they’re in the program, your photos are safe, accessible, and easy to browse anytime.

🏷️  Powerful Tagging and Organization Tools

Unlike basic computer folders, Historian gives you real organizational power.

You can tag photos by event, people, location, or theme — whatever makes sense to you. The software also lets you sort and filter images by date, camera type, or keyword.

This makes finding that special photo from your 2017 vacation or your child’s first birthday incredibly easy.

💡 Pro Tip: Try creating albums for each year, holiday, or major life event. With Historian’s tags and albums, your entire photo history becomes a digital timeline of your life.

🔒 Backed Up and Safe for the Future

We’ve all heard horror stories of lost phones, crashed hard drives, or corrupted memory cards. One accidental deletion can erase years of memories in seconds.

Historian eliminates that fear with built-in backup protection. You can back up your entire photo vault to an external hard drive, cloud service, or Forever’s permanent digital storage platform.

That means your photos aren’t just organized — they’re protected for life.

🖥️ Simple Editing and Restoration Features

Historian isn’t just about organization — it also helps you enhance and restore your pictures.

You can make quick fixes like cropping, red-eye correction, and adjusting lighting or color. For those treasured old family photos, Historian even includes restoration tools to remove scratches or fading.

These easy-to-use features let you polish your memories before sharing or using them in digital scrapbooks (especially if you pair Historian with Artisan — they work beautifully together!).

    🌈 Works Seamlessly with Artisan

If you already use Artisan for digital scrapbooking, Historian is the perfect partner.

You can store and tag all your photos in Historian, then easily send them to Artisan when you’re ready to create your next scrapbook page or photo book. It’s like having an organized library feeding directly into your creative workspace.

No more hunting for photos — just drag, drop, and design!

💕 It Keeps Your Stories Alive

Our photos are more than just pictures — they’re stories, milestones, and memories of the people and moments that shape our lives.

Historian helps you preserve those stories with intention. You can add descriptions, journaling notes, and tags to every photo, so even decades from now, your family will know the stories behind the images.

    ✨ Final Thoughts

If you’ve ever felt like your digital photos are out of control, Historian can give you peace of mind and clarity. It’s easy to use, built for memory keepers, and designed to protect your images long-term.

With Historian, you’re not just storing photos — you’re curating your family’s legacy.
